Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Contracts Officer, Project Administrator and Quality Officer.

Individuals in these roles work autonomously, and might be members of a project team, with no direct responsibility for overall project outcomes. Primarily, these roles would support wider project operations. They may use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organizational or business activities.

Course Duration

This qualification will be delivered over 52 weeks, including 36 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms of 9 weeks and 16 weeks of holidays. Holidays are 4 weeks per term.

Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components and those classes cater for a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills-based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.

Delivery mode and location

This course will be delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting which includes the simulation of workplace-based environment, as well as structured, online study.

Note: Currently, due to the COVID – 19 pandemic, the College is offering classes online only via Microsoft Teams. You must ensure that you have stable internet and webcam access within your laptop.

Entry Requirements

Infinite Learning Institute has the following entry requirements: International students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age and have completed a minimum of the equivalent of Year 10.
  • Have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old).  English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
    • Educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or
    • Completed at least 6 months of a minimum Certificate III level or higher course in an Australian RTO or education institute; or
    • Successful completion of an English Placement Test or evidence of undertaking relevant ELICOS program.

Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted.  You are required to provide your results so that we can confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Course Structure

The BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice requires the successful completion of three (3) core units and six (6) elective units. Enrolment and Orientation

Our vision is to inspire learners to Upon acceptance of a student’s application for enrolment, a letter of offer, as well as a written agreement, will be forwarded to students. Students must read through all provided information as it will provide all necessary information about the course of study. A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter will be issued once the signed acceptance of the offer and written agreement are received, as well as the first payment.

The first day of each course will include orientation and induction. Orientation will include information about the campus, living in Australia, accessing our support services and methods for achieving success throughout the course, including course progress requirements.

Course Credit

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available here.

For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course.
The result of an application for credit and any changes to fees or course duration will be advised to students in writing.
If course credit is granted following issuance of the Confirmation of Enrolment, students will receive a new Confirmation of Enrolment showing a reduced duration.

Training Arrangements

Students are required to attend classes for 13.5 hours a week and complete 6.5 hours of structured online study per week.  In addition to this, students are also required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study per week comprising of general reading and research for assessments. Students may commence this course at the start of any unit. 

Assessment Arrangements

Assessment methods used for this qualification will provide a range of ways for individuals to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:

  • Projects
  • Presentations
  • Report writing
  • Observations
  • Questioning (oral or written)

At the beginning of each unit, trainers will outline the assessment tasks that must be completed.
